"Let Them Eat Cake!" the Sheraton Plymouth's first annual wedding extravaganza showcasing magnificent wedding cakes and floral arrangements from all over the South Shore, will be held at the Sheraton Inn, 180 Water Street in Plymouth, on Sunday, January 27, 2002 from 1:30 � 4:30 pm.
Benefiting the Needy
Admission to the "Let Them Eat Cake" Wedding Extravaganza is free, but a $5 donation is asked with all proceeds going to the South Shore Coalition For the Homeless.
The Taste Test
The main attraction is a taste-contest of wedding cakes with the best bakeries in the South Shore participating. Soon to be brides and all other attendees will be sampling and judging the cakes on several qualities with awards going to the best bakeries. Participating wedding cake designers include Cake Connections, Connors Home Bakery, MCG Productions, Gingerbread House Bakery, The Bashful Baker, Konditor Meister and White's Pastry Shop, to name just a few.
Glorious Flowers, Glamorous Gowns
There will also be a floral showcase with the South Shore's finest florists displaying centerpieces and bouquets. A few participating florists are Clifford's, Farrington Floral, Petal Pusher Florist, Petals In The Wind Flower Shop, Toss Bouquet Flowers, Thyme and Time Again and Valente's.
Maria of Italy, the premier designer of elegant wedding gowns located in Plymouth, will be modeling several different designs and styles of gowns throughout the day.
Attendees will have the opportunity to sample the Sheraton's fine cuisine as Sheraton Executive Chef Victor Vieira presides over catering.
"We are very excited about this event," said Sheraton General Manager James Hoppensteadt. "It should be a great day for everyone attending as we have a lot of non-traditional events planned that will keep everyone busy as well as assist them in planning their big day."
With so many future husbands glued to the TVs that Sunday to watch the NFL, waiting to see who will advance to The Super Bowl, take the opportunity to come out and taste the finest wedding cakes on the south shore and get some great, creative ideas to help plan your special day.
