You can create a lovely baby shower centerpiece for your baby shower, and you don’t have to spend a lot of money.
When most people think about centerpieces, the first thing that comes to mind are basic floral arrangements. But it's really very simple to create centerpieces that are more original, for possibly less expense than a floral centerpiece.
Glass Bowl Centerpiece
This works well with a variety of items, including small rubber baby toys or floating candles. Simply fill a glass bowl with some glass pebbles and add water. Arrange the toys and/or candles in the bowl for a simple baby shower centerpiece that’s both elegant and sweet.
Beach Basket
If the shower you’re giving is in the summer, why not use a beach party theme? This is a cute idea, and it’s easy to work with. Fill a beach bucket with flowers, tropical flowers expand the theme. You’ll probably want to place a small piece of florist’s foam in the bottom of the basket to hold the flowers. Surround the flowers with diapers, baby bottles, bibs, socks, onesies, baby gowns, etc. You could also hang a small shovel on the side of the bucket. How cute!
Umbrella Centerpiece
Purchase a large pastel umbrella or parasol, and open it. Now fill it with a variety of baby items, stuffed animals, diapers, baby clothes, etc. Tie curled ribbons to the handle of the umbrella.
Nautical Centerpieces
Purchase a large plastic treasure chest, and fill it with baby items. Place a small amount of netting around the treasure chest and add a variety of colorful shells. You can also add some colorful plastic fish, boats, etc. Be sure you enhance the centerpiece by using nautical themed plates, cups, etc., and purchasing a cake that is decorated with sea creatures, etc.
Western Centerpieces
This is a cute and easy idea, and it’s perfect, especially if the baby is going to be a boy. Purchase a metal bucket and place it on top of a small western blanket that has been placed on the top of the table. Surround it with horseshoes, rope, horse figurines, small cowboy hats, etc. Place baby items inside, such as diapers, baby lotions, shampoos, teething rings, pacifiers, etc.
Springtime Centerpiece
For a springtime baby shower, focus on some icons of spring. Arrange several tulip-filled terra cotta pots in the center of the table. You can also use buttercups or any other springtime flower. Surround the base of the pots with ivy, and place small figurines of birds, rabbits, chickens, etc.
Autumn Centerpiece
For an autumn baby shower centerpiece, fill a large wooden or pottery bowl with fall leaves and miniature pumpkins, colored squash etc. Scatter more leaves around the outside of the bowl. Place some small baby items, such as pacifiers, teething rings, bibs, booties, etc. among the leaves. |
